Hiking the Blue Ridge loop – Cache Creek

Brent and I did a hike we’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’d forgotten about the note I left him on Fiske. It was a fun surprise to see what I’d written him.

It was a great, very lightly traveled hike. For being so close to urban areas, the trail is reverting back to nature due to lack of use.

Backpacking Cache Creek – Wilson Valley via the Redbud Trail

This was my third time at this site. The huge bald eagle nest – and the two eagles – was a pleasant surprise. Next time I’d like to hike in from Judge Davis and bring a large crowd.

Snowshoing in Lake Tahoe

I’ve been on four snowshoe trips so far this winter.

The Eagle Creek Canyon Trail leaving from Emerald Bay was the best. I recommend it to everyone. It’s easy, has views of Lake Tahoe, gets you to a frozen lake that is surrounded by peaks and has other people around. Be sure to check avalanche conditions and know what you’re doing. There are definitely steep slopes around the route.
